Missouri motorists should be wary of deer on the road, as accidents involving deer typically occur during the last three months of the year, according to the Missouri Insurance Information Service.
Government Affairs Director for the MIIS, Stephen Witte says the best way to avoid deer collisions is to drive defensively.
Witte says newly built roads are more likely to have deer crossings, and hunting season increases deer movement. Deer season began September 15th, and runs to January.
